An experienced litigator, Jim has assisted numerous clients with construction litigation, commercial collections, landlord/tenant issues, and general business disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Jim had a legal services background and was the supervising attorney at the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association and an associate at a small Boston law firm. Jim is a partner of the firm and is a member of the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit.

Jim's successful representation of clients includes:

  • Co-counseled a vigorously contested minority shareholder dispute involving a family and a nationally recognized restaurant chain.
  • Obtaining a substantial settlement, after several days of trial, in a wrongful death action involving a retired woman with no dependants.
  • Represented a franchisee in a claim of a wrongful termination involving the nation's largest franchiser of the particular industry.
  • Defense of an officer/director of a bank after an FDIC takeover.
  •  Obtained an award of multiple damages against an owner in favor of general contractor after successful jury verdict
  • Successful in an multiple arbitration proceeding where sole issue was whether firm's client had to pay $5 million to seller of real estate based on potential development of property.

When Jim is not practicing law, he enjoys playing basketball and jogging.
