Jennifer J. Normand


Jen has been practicing law in Massachusetts for 15 years, and over the course of those years also became licensed to practice law in Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Jen’s litigation practice has included extensive practice in the state and federal courts, as well as the appellate courts in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jen has litigation experience with a focus on real estate, including but not limited to partition actions and the resolution of title issues, such as clear cloud, reformation, and rescission actions. She has also engaged in litigation defending institutional lenders in TRO/Injunctions and foreclosure challenges, code violations, receiverships, interpleader actions, contested evictions and various consumer protection claims. Jen has represented creditors in various bankruptcy chapters and engaged in debtor/creditor litigation to obtain judgments on defaulted debts, and to establish the validity of security instruments on real property throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.


Jennifer’s representative cases include:

  • Obtained a judgment from the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts in favor of client in the amount of $185,459.73, plus interest stemming from a defaulted student loan.
  • Obtained a judgment from the Middlesex Superior Court in favor of a client in the amount of $120,882.72 in relation to a defaulted Note and Mortgage.
  • Obtained a judgment in favor of a lending institution affirming the validity of a HELOC mortgage debt following a trial in Bristol County Superior Court.
  • Co-chaired a jury trial on a breach of contract claim against a private university resulting in judgment for the client in the amount of $29,547.90.
  • Co-chaired a jury trial against a lending institution, where between directed verdict and jury verdict, all claims against the client were dismissed.
  • Successfully petitioned Rhode Island Supreme Court for Writ of Certiorari to overturn an interlocutory discovery order. Cruz v. Mortg. Elec. Reg. Syst. Inc., 108 A.3d 992 (R.I. 2015)
  • Petition of Griffin/Bardsley v. US Bank, NA, Supreme Court Docket No.: 2015-0251, Request for Preliminary Injunction Denied and Appeal dismissed.
  • Gilbert v. Federal National Mortgage Ass’n, 81 Mass.App.Ct. 1128 (MA Appeals Court 2012)
  • Henry v. Provident Funding Associates, 30 Mass.L.Rptr. 33 (Suffolk Superior 2012)
