Overview

George represents shareholders of closely held companies, guiding them through complex legal and business challenges while protecting ownership, preserving the value of their companies, and advancing long-term goals. He proactively advises clients to prevent disputes and litigates high-stakes shareholder conflicts when necessary, crafting strategies tailored to each client’s priorities. Recognized for combining practical legal insight with strategic business judgment, George helps shareholders safeguard their rights, resolve disputes efficiently, and leverage challenges into opportunities for growth. His clients rely on him not just to navigate legal issues but to provide guidance that strengthens both their ownership position and the companies they’ve built.

George also litigates complex commercial disputes and employment disputes in state and federal court, representing employers in risk management matters regarding employee privacy laws, Wage Act compliance, and wrongful termination lawsuits. His practice includes advising small business owners and large corporations in risk management matters regarding consumer protection statute compliance, and payment disputes, including breach of contract lawsuits, premises liability, and product disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, George worked for a small general practice firm in Dorchester representing clients in a variety of commercial litigation disputes, personal injury, and real estate matters. George also worked for a large regional insurance defense firm representing clients in a variety of tort and liability defense matters. In his last role, George worked for a mid-sized litigation firm representing clients in a variety of business, employment, and construction disputes.

During law school, George served as the case comment editor of the Suffolk Journal of Health & Biomedical Law and received the Best Brief Award for Legal Practice Skills. In his final year of law school, George was a member of the Suffolk Law School Defenders Clinic.

Experience

  • Achieved a significant victory before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals enforcing a client’s contractually negotiated attorney’s fees and a post-trial award of attorneys and pre-and-post judgment interest.
  • Successfully resolved a commercial restaurant dispute involving significant financial exposure through mediation and secured client’s control of the business, minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Successfully resolved wrongful death lawsuit by leveraging a summary judgment motion to save transportation company client the cost of trial.
