Rudolph Friedmann Secures $4 Million Judgment in Wrongful Death Action

On November 10, 2016, Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Leila Kern awarded $4 million to Rudolph Friedmann clients’ Sameer Sabir and his wife Nadda Siddiqui for the wrongful death of their infant daughter Remah Sabir. The civil case was filed against Remah’s Irish nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy, who was initially indicted for murder, after the criminal charges against her were dropped.

Before the civil suit was initiated, the family sought to obtain an agreement from McCarthy that she would not seek to profit from the events surrounding the case. When she failed to agree, the family hired Rudolph Friedmann partner Jonathon Friedmann to file suit to protect their interests. After the suit was commenced, former Attorney General Martha Coakley joined the Rudolph Friedmann team in pursuing the matter. The case resulted in a $4 million judgment against the former nanny.
